Maharaia Winiata (1912–1960) was a notable New Zealand tribal leader, Methodist minister, teacher, anthropologist, broadcaster and community leader. Of Māori descent, he identified with the Ngati Ranginui iwi. He was born in Ngahina Pa, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand in 1912.
