Madhusree Mukerjee is a journalist and author of "Churchill's Secret War: The British Empire and the Ravaging of India during World War II" and the "Land of Naked People: Encounters with Stone Age Islanders". In the book, "Churchill's Secret War" Mukerjee documents the role played by the policies, as well as the racial worldview, of the war-time Prime Minister of United Kingdom Winston Churchill in the death and devastation caused by the Bengal Famine of 1943 and the Partition of India. Trained as a physicist from University of Chicago, Madhushree took to Science Journalism and served on the board of editors of Scientific American for seven years. She received the Guggenheim fellowship for her work in the book The Land of Naked People.
Madhusree Mukerjee is also a contributor to the People's Archive of Rural India.
