Machovec Czech Grocery St.Paul

From the early 1900s until 1976, Machovec's Czech grocery in St. Paul, Minnesota served the thriving Czech community in St. Paul's West End neighborhood. The grocery made its own Czech specialities, including kolache and jitrnice. Czech and Bohemian immigrants congregated in this neighborhood; many of them worked for the Schmidt Brewery.
