On the 5th July 2016 the European Highlander completed a refit that added a new forward lounge, new shops and kid's areas and over fifty more seats for passengers which includes opening up the top deck on sunny days. In Autumn 2016 the ship will have additional seating areas in the reception room, and brand new 'food courts' will be added by next summer. P&O ferries said: "We trust that the experience of travelling with P&O will continue to be the best we can provide."
