MOPS International is a grassroots movement that believes moms are world influencers. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and primarily reaches mothers of children aged from birth through kindergarten.

MOPS believes that incubating hearts can change the course of history. They connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find their identity by journeying alongside one another. There are more than 3900 MOPS groups meeting across the United States and in 35 countries around the world. MOPS groups meet regularly to celebrate the joys of motherhood and to encourage each other through the challenges.

MOPS International, Inc. is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The faith based organization had its first meeting in February 1973 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, established a board of directors in 1981, and was incorporated under the name MOPS Outreach. The name was later changed to MOPS, Inc. In 1988, as they expanded beyond the US, the name was changed again, to MOPS International, Inc.

Original founders included Marlene Seidel and seven others at Trinity Baptist Church.
