METALmorphosis is a large (7 metre, 13 tonne) kinetic sculpture of a human head, by Czech artist David CernĂ½. The sculpture is in the Technology Plaza in Charlotte, North Carolina, where it sits in a large reflecting pool.

The piece is executed in polished stainless steel. The sculpture spouts water from its mouth, and is made of some 40 layers which can rotate individually.

A later and larger work, K or Hlava Franze Kafky, weighing in at 45 tonnes of steel, the head that of Franz Kafka, is in Prague.
