Nikesh Kumar is the youngest son of the late CMP leader and former minister M. V. Raghavan. Nikesh Kumar moved away from Journalism to Politics and decided to contest for LDF from Azhikode constituency in Kerala. In the 2016 Kerala Assembly Elections he contested against KM Shaji of Indian Union Muslim League. However, M.V. Nikesh Kumar lost in that elections by a margin of 2284. He is married to Rani and has two children - Sankaran and Janaki.He was honoured with Ramnath Goenka award for excellence in journalism by president of india.
