Lyons is a brand of tea belonging to Unilever that is sold in Ireland. It is one of the two dominant brands in the market, along with Barry's Tea. It was started by the Lyons family in Dublin in 1902, with production moving from High Street to Marlborough Street in 1932 and Goldenbridge in 1963. The company was taken over by Unilever in 1996 and its products are now produced in England. It was a major advertiser in the early decades of RTÉ Television, featuring the "Lyons minstrels" and coupon-based prize competitions.
