Lulu B.

Lulu B. is a brand of French wine made in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, which is a major contributor to the wine lake. The producer's label, a simple and friendly one, clearly indicates the grape variety (Syrah, Chardonnay, or Pinot noir) from which the wine is made. Research has demonstrated that American consumers, especially younger ones, prefer varietally informative and unpretentious wine labels. They dislike those picturing chateaux with obscure terms (Franson). In meeting New World market demands, Lulu B. follows the path of FAT bastard and Red Bicyclette. Plan Bordeaux discourages what it terms "elitist" labels and encourages prominent varietal information.
