Lucy O'Byrne is a London-based singer and actress from Dublin, Ireland. She competed on the first series of The Voice of Ireland, where she was eliminated in the battle rounds and was part of "Team Kian"; and later was on The Voice UK series 4 and finished in second place on "Team Will" but lost to Stevie McCrorie. Following her success on the Voice UK O'Byrne began a tour with the musical The Sound of Music.

The Voice UK

O'Byrne auditioned for The Voice UK during 2015 and successfully progressed to the Battle Rounds under the category of Team Will. O'Byrne won her battle round beating out Karl Loxley and went on to the Knockout stages where she performed Un Bel di Vedremo. Will.i.am chose Lucy to go through the Live Shows; at the first live show O'Byrne performed When You Wish Upon a Star and was awarded Team Will's fast pass to the Second Live Show. O'Byrne progressed from the Second Live Show with O mio babbino caro and into the Live Finals. In Round 1 of The Live Final Lucy performed "No Surprises" which later featured on her album; O'Byrne passed Round 1 in the Live Finals and in Round 2 performed her audition song one final time. However Stevie McCrorie secured the first-place position, yet Lucy came 2nd.

O'Byrne performed at the BBC proms during the 2015 Season in Belfast. And performed most notable I Could Have Danced All Night from My Fair Lady. Following O'Byrne appearance on The Voice UK her audition song was selected to be part of the compilations album "Now That's What I Call Classical".

On 28 September 2015, it was announced that O'Byrne would play the role of the main character Maria in a new 2016 UK tour of The Sound of Music, produced by Bill Kenwright. The 2016 tour began in Salford on 2 January in the Lowry Threate and ends on 16 July 2016 in Cheltenham at the Everyman Threate. The 2016 tour will go across Scotland and England stopping at most notablyAberdeen ; at Aberdeen O'Byrne will perform at His Majesty's Theatre. Also while touring Scotland O'Byrne will perform at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

Under the banner of Island Records O'Byrne began work on her debut album with classical music as the main genre. O'Byrne's album Debut was preceded by the leading single "The Universal". The lead single was released on YouTube and has over 3,000 views to date, following the single O'Byrne's album was released on 25 March 2016 on iTunes. To advertise the album O'Byrne also made another appearance on The Late Late Show performing "The Universal" on Friday 25th March 2016. The album also features "No Surprises", which O'Byrne performed live on The Late Late Show on 10 April 2015. As the final track of the album O'Byrne recorded her audition song for The Voice.
