The neighbourhood of Żabikowo (former German Zabikowo, called Poggenburg by the Nazis) in the north-west of Luboń was the site of a Nazi prison camp in 1943–1945, which replaced the Fort VII camp in western Poznań. There is now a museum there, and a monument entitled Nigdy wojny ("Never War") by Józef Gosławski. Żabikowo became part of Luboń when town rights were conferred in 1954.
