Lovington High School

Lovington High School was shut down in 2012, and the building that had stood since 1909 was torn down after the district annexed into Arthur.

Its mascot was the Panther. When the school districts combined, it was voted on by the students from both communities to continue as the Arthur-Lovington Knights. A significant portion of students instead had hoped for a change to the Arthur-Lovington Battlecats, as the Battlecat (the green, orange-striped ridden by He-man) represented both a fierce warrior and a traditional cat.
