Louis Dodero was a French photographer from Marseilles. Not much is known Dodero other than the fact that he is credited with inventing the Carte de visite. More often than not, this credit is erroneously given to André-Adolphe-Eugène Disdéri who popularised the use of this type of photograph mostly because of his good fortune to be in the right place and the right time during Napoleon III's visit to his studio.
