Loughtown (in Irish: Baile Loch) is a townland in County Leitrim. Loughtown is on the banks of Loughtown Lough. Townlands that also touch the banks of the Lough are Effrinagh, Ardlougher, Annaghnamaddoo, Annaghbradican, and Lisdromarea North. Loughtown crannog (Ancient Man Made Island) measured one hundred and twenty feet from east to west by one hundred feet from north to south, and was surrounded by a mass of stakes upwards of fifteen feet wide, inclining in towards the centre of the island.
