Lord James Murray

Lord James Murray (8 May 1663 – 30 December 1719), was a Scottish Member of Parliament.

Murray was the third son of John Murray, 1st Marquess of Atholl, by Lady Amelia Anne Sophia, daughter of James Stanley, 7th Earl of Derby, and was born at Knowsley Hall, Lancashire, the seat of the Stanley family. John Murray, 1st Duke of Atholl and Charles Murray, 1st Earl of Dunmore, were his elder brothers. He was returned to parliament for Perthshire in 1710, a seat he held until 1715, when he was succeeded by his nephew, Lord James Murray.

Murray married Anne, daughter of Sir Robert Murray. He died at Perth in December 1719, aged 56.
