Lophozonia is a genus (or subgenus) of seven evergreen and deciduous species of trees native to the Southern Hemisphere that can grow up to 40 metres high. They belong to the family Nothofagaceae, which are commonly known as the Southern Beeches. Species are located in Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina.

Prior to 2013, Lophozonia was universally considered to be a subgenus of Nothofagus under the name Nothofagus subgenus Lophozonia. Recognition of Lophozonia as a full genus results from the acceptance of a controversial proposal by Heenan & Smissen (2013), a proposal which is rejected by Hill, Jordan & Macphail (2015).
