Locations

Logan’s challenge took place at Gibside National Trust Park in Newcastle on 26 September 2009, Coombe Country Park in Coventry on 3 October 2009, Black Park Country Park in Buckinghamshire on 10 October 2009, Heaton Park in Manchester on 17 October 2009 and Strathclyde Park near Glasgow on 24 October 2009.

Participation

Participants were able to enter as an individual or as part of a four-person team. The Challenge was also split into two levels, with participants choosing either ‘Chase’ or ‘Epic.’ 'Chase' included a 5 km walk/run/jog and a 15 km cycle and 'Epic' involved a 10 km walk/jog/run and a 25 km cycle. There were also skill and mind challenges and the event concluded with an assault course.

Celebrity Involvement

Kenny Logan was due to participate and host a celebrity team in each location and it was expected that his wife Gabby Logan would also participate. Other celebrities who signed up included James Cracknell, Gail Emms, Jamie Bamber, Heather Fell, Roger Uttley, Scott Hastings and Gavin Hastings.

Sparks

Kenny and his wife Gabby are currently co-presidents of the charity Sparks, which will benefit from Logan’s Challenge. Sparks’ sole remit is to fund research across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine. Their vision is a world where all babies are born healthy and stay healthy.
