Rayshard Ashby- Lloyd C. Bird High School


Lloyd Campbell Bird (August 1, 1894 – April 20, 1978) was a Virginia State Senator. He was born in Highland County, Virginia.

Senator Bird began as a teacher at what is now the Medical College of Virginia. In 1925, he partnered with Morris Phipps to start Phipps & Bird, a business that provide a source of laboratory apparatus, chemicals and other products for scientific education.

From 1952 to 1953, he was the president of the Virginia Academy of Science, and he was elected in 1972 as a "Fellow of the Virginia Academy of Science".

Lloyd C. Bird High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia is named after him.
