Rudyard Kipling's Fiction: Mapping Psychic Spaces

Lizzy Welby is a British critical and creative writer specialising in the works of Julia Kristeva and Helene Cixous. She holds a PhD in Literature from the University of East Anglia. She is an elected Council Member of The Kipling Society and has edited, with an introduction, Rudyard Kipling: Selected Verse (CRW Publishing, 2012). She has published articles on Rudyard Kipling, James Joyce, Angela Carter and Sylvia Plath.

She is also winner of the 2014 Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition for a story entitled, The Breakers and was awarded third prize at the Bridport Prize in 2012 for ‘Jugged Hare’. She is the author of Rudyard Kipling’s Fiction: Mapping Psychic Spaces Edinburgh Critical Studies in Victorian Culture (Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2015) and is currently working on a study of Ernest Hemingway’s short fiction.

Lizzy Welby teaches English and American literature at the College Francais Bilingue de Londres, London.
