Elections to Liverpool City Council were held on 3 May 1990. One third of the council was up for election and the Labour party kept overall control of the council.
After the election, the composition of the council was:

As there were two vacancies for this seat, in order to allow comparison, only the votes for the highest scoring candidate for each party have been used to compile the statistics.
