Aigburth

This was the second election to the Aigburth ward, which was created in 1925, so no comparisons are made.

Aldermanic Election

18 Aldermen were elected by the Council on 9 November 1926 for a term of six years.

    Following the death of Councillor Henry Baxter (Conservative, Kensington, elected 1st November 1924) on 10th November 1926,

    No. 26 Warbreck, 22nd March 1927

    Because Sir John Sutherland Harmood Banner, Bart. refused the offer of the office of Alderman, Councillor Edward West ( Warbreck, elected unopposed 1st November 1924) was elected by the councillors as an alderman on 2nd March 1927.

    No. 11 Brunswick,

    Alderman John Lea died on 26th January 1927. The Councillors elected Councillor James Sexton C.B.E. MP as an alderman on 2nd March 1927. It was reported to the Council, on 6th April 1927, that Councillor James Sexton C.B.E. MP had refused the offer of office of alderman. Councillor Luke Hogan (Labour, Brunswick, elected 1st November 1924) was elected as an alderman by the councillors on 5th October 1927.

    Caused by the death of Councillor Edmund Robert Thompson (Conservative, Garston, elected 1st November 1925) on 22nd April 1927.
