This is a list of the oldest verified dogs in the world, listed by age, all of whom have attained the minimum age of 14. Aging in dogs depends on breed, size and diet.

Oldest verified dogs by age

The following dogs' ages were authenticated via Guinness World Records. A document is required by Guinness, such as a birth certificate, to prove his or her age.

Jake, a Rat Terrier owned by Ronald w. Johnson, Jr of Davenport, Iowa, received the Guinness World Record for "oldest dog living" on July 21, 2015. Jake was born July 21, 1994 and became the "oldest dog living" by Guinness standards on his 21st birthday. This is documented in numerous publications that can be found online, etc., including this link to a story about the world's oldest living cat. Jake is mentioned toward the end of the article. Jake died on July 27, 2015.
