The Firm is a legal-drama television series, created by Lukas Reiter for NBC, Global and AXN, that is adapted as a sequel to the 1991 John Grisham novel of the same name and its 1993 film adaptation in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The television adaptation is set ten years after the novel and film. It is executive produced by John Grisham, John Morayniss, Michael Rosenberg, Noreen Halpern, and Reiter. It premiered in Canada and the U.S. as a two-hour special on January 8, 2012 and assumed its regular time slot on January 12, 2012, replacing Prime Suspect in the Thursday night lineup of both Global and NBC. The series premiered on AXN on February 19, 2012.

Josh Lucas stars as the protagonist, Mitch McDeere, while Molly Parker plays his wife, Abby McDeere. Callum Keith Rennie plays his brother Ray McDeere and Juliette Lewis plays Ray's girlfriend. Natasha Calis plays Claire McDeere, the daughter of Mitch and Abby. Although the show is a sequel to both the book and the movie, "The book ends with him on the run, his law career apparently over; the movie ends with him and his wife, Abby, on their way back to Boston, hoping for a new start in life and law." Bill Keveney of the USA Today notes that the television show more closely resembles the film in this regard. The first season revolves around a conspiracy and the interest in a McDeere client accused of murder by a mysterious law firm that pursues a business relationship with McDeere's firm.

As of July 14, 2012, 22 episodes of The Firm have aired on Global and 22 episodes of the series aired on NBC.
