The following is a list of characters from Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, beginning with the 1991 novel Outlander. The story focuses on 20th century nurse Claire Randall, who time travels to 18th century Scotland and finds adventure and romance with the dashing Jamie Fraser. A mix of several genres, the series features elements of historical fiction, romance, adventure, mystery and science fiction/fantasy. In August 2014 the US-based cable channel Starz debuted an TV series adaptation based on the novels.
