Heartland is a Canadian family drama television series which debuted on CBC on October 14, 2007. Heartland follows sisters Amy and Lou Fleming, their grandfather Jack Bartlett, and Ty Borden, through the highs and lows of life at the ranch.
The program currently airs on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm EST. It also airs in the United States on UP, on Wednesday evenings at 9:00 pm Eastern. Heartland focuses on a young girl, Amy, who's inherited her mother's gift of being able to heal abused/neglected horses after a tragic accident that leads to big changes in everyone's lives. The series has been renewed for a tenth season, which premiered on Sunday October 2, 2016.
As of February 12, 2017, 170 episodes of Heartland have aired. This makes it the longest-running one-hour scripted drama in the history of Canadian television, surpassing the 124 episodes of Street Legal on October 18, 2014.
