List of Women's singles Grand Slam tournaments tennis champions. Note that some major changes have taken place over the years that have affected how many titles have been won by various players. Most notable included the elimination of the challenge round in 1922, the opening of the French national championships to international competition in 1925, and the allowing in of professional players in 1968 (the start of the 'Open' era). Since then, 45 women have won at least one grand slam.
