On 26 September 2013 media reported that Leçi may receive a call-up from Albania.

On 24 October 2013, Leçis former team Landskrona BoIS suspended both Leçi and his teammate, goalkeeper Bill Halvorsen, from further play, with suspicions that the players had been bribed to influence the team's performances negatively.

On 8 October 2014, Uppdrag granskning, a Swedish investigative journalism television program, published an interview with Leçi, filmed with a hidden camera. In the interview, Leçi admits his involvement in match fixing. On the recording Liridon Leçi blatantly speaks about his contacts in the second tier league Superettan and particularly Sweden's highest football league, Allsvenskan.
