Line 2 of the Hangzhou Metro (Chinese: 杭州地铁二号线; pinyin: Hángzhōu Dìtiě ÈrHào Xiàn) is a north-south rapid transit line, mainly serving the downtown and the district of Xiaoshan in Hangzhou. The first phase of the line, between Qianjiang Road and Chaoyang stations, has entered operation on November 24, 2014 after six years of construction. The line is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2017, with the remaining stations gradually opening in stages.
