The Line 1/2 of the Kunming Rail Transit (Chinese: 昆明轨道交通1/2号线; pinyin: Kūnmíng Guǐdào Jiāotōng Yī/Èr Hào Xiàn) is an elevated Metro line that connects the Chenggong with Kunming's urban center. The line is 40.4 kilometres (25.1 mi) long and currently has thirty-one stops with the North Bus Station as the northern terminal, and University Town South Station as the southern terminal. The line entered into operation on 20 May 2013. On subway maps, the Line's color is      red/     blue. Line 1/2 will be split into two operational lines once Line 1 (phase 3) and Line 2 (phase 2) is completed.

Hours of operation

Currently the hours of operation for line 1, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 midnight daily with an 8 minutes interval frequency.

Line 1/2 trains travels at speeds of up to 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph). On the initial operation one-way trip will take approximately 34 minutes.
