The Lierna chair was designed by the Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1960.:173 It is an upright dining-chair and is made of lacquered wood with a slightly padded plywood seat.:173:79 It was commissioned and produced by Cassina and sold through Dino Gavina.:356
