Profiles

Liberties Press (also known as Liberties Media Ltd) is an Ireland-based publisher of non-fiction titles of Irish and international interest. The company was first launched in 2003 by Peter O'Connell and Seán O’Keeffe and has since published on a wide range of subjects. Liberties Press received controversy in 2012 after it agreed to publish When We Dance by Melanie Verwoerd, after businessman Dave Kavanagh filed an injunction to keep the book from being released. Kavanagh alleged that he was defamed in the book, which covered Verwoerd's relationship with Irish radio and TV personality Gerry Ryan. The injunction was later withdrawn.

In 2014 the publisher expanded its brick and mortar offices to include a bookstore that offers Liberties Press books and other sundries.
