Founder and chairman of Tiens Group, a direct seller of healthcare products. Founded in Tianjin in 1995, Tiens today has more than 8,000 employees in industries including bio-tech, education, retail and tourism in more than 190 countries. Tiens net profit in 2009 totaled $438 million, according to a report by the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce. Li, a native of Cangzhou in Hebei Province, is an active philanthropist. Among his charitable donations: founded the Tiens Meijing International Charitable Foundation with approximately $100 million. Li also provided $100 million to set up Tianshi College in China, a private school in Tianjin which currently enrolls more than 3,400 students.
