Lexington High School is located in Lexington, Ohio, United States. The school serves grades 9-12 and is the only high school in the Lexington Local School District. Lexington has received an "Outstanding" ranking for and outstanding nine consecutive years by the Ohio Board of Education as a result of standardized test scores.

Athletics
Lexington High School has a strong tradition in sports including eight team state championships and several individual championships. The football team at LHS had fallen upon hard times going 2-8 in the 2005 and 2006 seasons, but had a great run under 2001 Division II State Coach of the Year Dave Kaple through the late 90's and early 2000's. In 2001 the football team won their first Ohio Heartland Conference Crown since 1988, and advanced to the OHSAA Division II playoffs, persisted to knock of #47 seeded Marysville before losing to state runner-up Bishop Watterson. The football team began to show signs of life again in 2007 in their second season under BJ Payne, finishing the season at 8-3 and participating in the playoffs for the second time in school history. The team finished the 2008 campaign with a perfect 10-0 record before falling in the second round of the playoffs to eventual Division II champion Sylvania Southview. The football team has recently been coached by Dan Studer after Payne resigned after the 2011 season. Studer resigned after the 2013 season, and has been succeeded by former Miami University linebacker Taylor Gerhardt. Gerhardt and the Minutemen finished 0-10 in 2014. The Minutemen entered their 2015 season looking for bigger things. As the first game approached they were looking for one goal, to have a season they would never forget. Hunter Biddle, a junior running back, led the Minutemen to a 26-19 victory over their rivals, the Ontario Warriors. This had broken their 18-game losing streak. Biddle rushed for 204 yards on 21 carries with 2 touchdowns. Their next game, they faced a big threat of the Shelby Whippets', Brennan Armstrong. The Minutemen had another great victory against the game from Biddle and Vore, the senior quarterback. In the 34-20 victory, they completely shut down Armstrong's running and passing game. Now 2-0, they knew the next game would be a threat. They faced the Norwalk Truckers, reigning NOL champs with a record of 10-0 the past season. They entered the game and fought to the end winning 28-0. The Minutemen now stand at 3-0 on the season looking to continue their streak. The boys' basketball team gradually improved under the coaching of 1987 alum Grant Weaver, in 2006-2007 finishing with a 15-9 record as Northwest District Runner-up to state-bound Upper Sandusky. In 2007-2008 the team Tied with Mansfield Senior High for its first conference title in a decade, as well went on to win the district and conclude a fine season as Regional Runner up with a final 20-5 record. Weaver resigned in 2009 and the reigns were handed to 1992 HS All-American, former Michigan State and NBA player, Jamie Feick who won two OCC titles in his tenure. He resigned in 2012 and the team got its third coach in 8 years when JV coach Scott Hamilton was hired for the 2012-2013 campaign. Under Hamilton in three seasons the team has gone 46-28 winning 3 Sectional Titles. The girls' team had great success in recent years under 2007 Division II State Coach of the Year Dan Trease. The girls were crowned Northwest District Champions five times under Trease, and reached the State Final Four in 2002, getting beat in overtime by Hudson. They concluded the 2006-2007 season 21-3 as District Champions. The 2007-2008 season concluded with a mark of 16-8 and another District Championship. In 2012, Lexington got its first wrestling state champions. Josh Lehner became first, then shortly after, Jake Faust won his state championship and the team placed second at state. Josh Lehner became the first Lex wrestler win state championships in back to back years after winning again in 2013. Lexington girls tennis has dominated the state, winning multiple state titles including in 2010, 2011, and 2012. The boys team were runners-up in 2012 and champions in 2013. In 2013 the swim team got its first state champion as Hannah Stevens won the 100 back and 100 free, setting the D2 girls record in both and winning the OHSAA Division 2 Girls Swimmer of the Year. The boys swim team has also won nine straight Sectional Championships.
