Liberal MP Leona Alleslev crosses the floor to join Tories
Leona Alleslev, MP is a Canadian politician, who was elected to represent the riding of Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill in the House of Commons of Canada in the Canadian federal election, 2015.

Alleslev graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada, and served as a logistics officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring with the rank of captain. She has held leadership positions within the Department of National Defence, as well as senior managerial roles with IBM and Bombardier Aerospace. Alleslev also served on the Aerospace Industry Association of Canada, the Ontario Aerospace Council and the Women in Aerospace Association joint government/industry change initiatives.

In these roles, Alleslev worked to change the way multimillion-dollar government contracts were structured, evaluated and awarded. At Bombardier Aerospace she was responsible for defining and implementing the final assembly line infrastructure for the Global Express business aircraft programs. Additionally, she has served as an industry thought leader who has presented advanced manufacturing technical papers at engineering and maintenance society conferences.

Alleslev currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on National Defence, and in March 2017, she was elected as Chair of the Canadian NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
