Lenentine is a Huguenot surname. Some of the family emigrated from France to the United States. There is a strong population in Houlton, Maine, where there is a Lenentine reunion every summer on Labor Day weekend at Monticello Grange Hall. There is also a reunion for a more Canadian version of the family in Connecticut. The Lenentine family is spread throughout New England with the major concentration being in Maine.

Zachary Lenentine was one of the founders of Unity College, in Unity, Maine, and a prominent member of the Oneida Society.

More Lenentine's reside in Parts Of Virginia, Florida, Alabama, New Jersey, and New Mexico, but the Maine branch is most prominent.
