Leeds City Council election, 2008

The Leeds City Council election took place on 1 May 2008 to elect members of City of Leeds Metropolitan Borough Council in West Yorkshire, England. Prior to the election Hyde Park & Woodhouse councillor, Kabeer Hussain, had defected from Liberal Democrats to Independent and Lib Dem-turn-Independent, Brian Jennings, joined the Conservatives. Alongside the third of the council up for election was a double vacancy in Calverley & Farsley. The Conservative-Liberal Democrat-Morley Borough Independent Coalition remained in power. Voter turnout was 35.8%.
