Laurie mayer can t stop laughing
Laurie Mayer (born 1961) is an American born composer and songwriter who has spent much of her musical career in the UK, working in collaboration with William Orbit. She majored in both music and fine art at UCLA before relocating to London, UK. During the 1980s and 90s she was part of the group Torch Song. The band released four albums: Wish Thing, Ecstasy, Exhibit A, and Toward the Unknown Region.
Laurie also is credited with vocals and writing of several songs on the 1990 album Set the Controls for the Heart of the Bass by Orbit's Bassomatic, the 1995 Strange Cargo album Hinterland, William Orbit's 2006 album Hello Waveforms, and the 2009 album My Oracle Lives Uptown.
She worked with Etienne Daho on his albums 'Pop Satori' and 'Pour nos vies martiennes'. During that time she released an EP, Bright Blue Night. The title track was covered as "Le seul cœur que je brise" by the Daho produced version recorded by Belgian pop artist Lio.
Laurie released a solo album, Black Lining in (2006). It was co produced with Rico Conning and has three tracks that were mixed by William Orbit.
The song Falling Free on Madonna's MDNA album (2012), was co-written by Laurie Mayer, Joe Henry, and William Orbit.
She is currently working with William Orbit and is the CEO of Guerilla Studios. She also continues to compose music with her husband Rico Conning of the Lines.
In 2008 she co-authored the book The Way We Were California: Nostalgic Images of the Golden State.
