Laura Jean Libbey (March 22, 1862 – October 25, 1924), was an American writer.

The highly popular author of fiction, her works were what became known as dime novels. Today they would be categorised as formulaic romance novels.

In 1898, at the age of 36, she married a lawyer. They did not have children.

She died in 1924, and was buried in the Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.

In the 1920s some of her novels were filmed.
