Laura Fjeld (née Bernstein) is a North Carolina attorney and the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina's 6th congressional district in the 2014 election. She won the nomination in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014.

From 2008 through 2013, Fjeld served as vice president and general counsel for the University of North Carolina system. Earlier, she spent almost three decades as a lawyer for various firms and as a state-certified mediator.

Education

Fjeld attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating in 1976 with a degree in History and Political Philosophy. Fjeld later earned her J.D. at the UC Berkeley School of Law, graduating in 1981.
