In Greek mythology, Lampos was the name of three horses. One was owned by Eos, Diomedes and Hector.
Lampos is a derivative of the Greek word "lampo" ("λάμπω" using Greek alphabet), which in turn is a verb with the same meaning as glitter or shine.
Nowadays, Lampos is used as a surname of many families in Greece.
Lampos is also the fictitious name of a particular sacred site in the parish of Rennes-les-Bains (Aude), France, given by the priest Henri Boudet in his brilliantly-encrypted work La Vraie Langue Celtique published in 1886.
