The Lake Pedder planarian (Romankenkius pedderensis) is a species of invertebrate in the Dugesiidae family.
Distribution and conservation status
It was endemic to the Lake Pedder area in Tasmania, Australia prior to its flooding in 1972 for a hydro-electric power scheme. Since 1986 this species has been considered extinct by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. However, recently collected specimens of this species were described in 2006. The ongoing existence of the species was confirmed in 2012.
