Lafayette Oaks is a subdivision in Tallahassee, Florida about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of downtown that was founded in 1971. It is one of a number of housing subdivisions built on the Lafayette Land Grant, land granted to the Marquis de Lafayette for his service in the American Revolution. There are about 330 homes all on approximately one to three acre lots. There is an allowance in the HOA's for the keeping larger animals on lots that exceede one acre. This is one of the few gated communities in the Tallahassee area. There are about 800 residents who live in Lafayette Oaks; the median age is around 54. The streets are lined with oak, pine, and crepe myrtle trees. There is a community swimming pool, a park, and a pond in the center of the community.

Recently Lafayette Oaks has won 2012 and 2013 Leon County Florida Neighborhood of the Year.
