Lafayette Mulligan was the name under which several hoaxes were perpetrated in Boston in the 1930s. In one such incident, a letter from "Mulligan"—purportedly writing on behalf of mayor James Michael Curley—invited Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) to come to Boston as Curley's guest.
