Lachik is one of the Kachin sub-tribes who has their own literacy and language/dialect. To be able to use a work "Kachin", seven sub-tribes need to be included. Those are Rawang, the Lisu, the Zaiwa, the Lashi/Lachik, the Lawngwaw and Jingpo. A group of seven sub-tribes call Kachin (Wunhpawng). The majority of Lachik people live in northern Burma's Kachin State and bordering areas between Myanmar and China. Simplicity and honesty are part of Lachik culture or norm. They love lending their hands without consideration a return.

Costumes

Lachik costumes are very different from other Kachin sub-tribes and they have their own meaning accordingly.
