Labour Friends of Italy

Labour Friends of Italy (LFIT) is an organisation of Labour members of Italian origins and roots, affiliated to the UK Labour party.

It was founded during the 2010 General and Local Elections, when a group of members of the Labour Party decided to target the Italian community in four marginal constituencies in London (Islington South and Finsbury, Hammersmith, Tooting, Poplar and Limehouse). Labour managed to hold the four seat and, as Mary Honeyball MEP notes in her blog "the result in these constituencies and more generally in London were some of the best in the country and provide a good base".

At the inaugural AGM in July, Emily Thornberry MP was elected National Chair
