William Caine was the first head college football coach for the Grubbs Vocational College Grubbworms (later called the University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks)) located in Arlington, Texas and he held that position for two seasons, from 1919 until 1920. The school discontinued its football team after completion of the 1985 season.
