Kurt Sametreiter (born 9 April 1922) was an Oberscharfuhrer in the Waffen SS who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

Sametreiter was awarded his Knight's Cross during the Battle of Kursk in the tank Battle of Prokhorovka where he was a platoon commander in the 3rd Company, 1st Panzerjager Battalion of the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH).

The LSSAH was then part of the 2nd SS Panzer Corps when it was attacked by two Russian Tank Corps. Oberscharfuhrer Sametreiter was responsible for destroying twenty four tanks in one action.
