Kshatriya Kulavatauns is a title of nobility, which was conferred upon the seventeenth century Indian warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Raje Bhosale and it means the head or chief of Kshatriya race. ‘Kshatriya’ is one of the four varnas of Hinduism and ‘kulavantas’ means the head of the ‘kula’ or race. The title continues to be used by Shivaji’s descendants.
