Koshiya is an Indian family surname from the Kathiawad, Gujarat area of India. Formally, all members of the Koshiya family are Hindu Leuva Patel, although some have since chosen other religious beliefs. The Koshiya surname came from the name of an ancestor, 'kashi'.
