The Korea Open is an annual table tennis tournament in South Korea, run by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). It is currently part of the ITTF World Tour.
History
The tournament was first held in 1985, and has featured on the ITTF World Tour's schedule every year since 2001.
China's Xu Xin currently holds the record for most men's singles tournament wins, with three, while Hong Kong's Tie Ya Na and Singapore's Feng Tianwei jointly hold the record for most women's singles tournament wins, with two each.
In August 2016, it was announced by the ITTF that Incheon has been chosen as one of six cities to host a regular World Tour event in 2017, missing out on the chance to host one of the new "Platinum" events in the tour's revamped schedule. This means that the Korea Open will lose the place it has held in the tour's top tier of events since 2014.
